SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Royals have signed veteran right-hander Ricky Nolasco to a Minor League contract with an invitation to big league Spring Training.
Nolasco will earn $1.5 million if he makes the Major League roster, with a potential $250,000 more in performances bonuses, a source confirmed to MLB.com.
Nolasco would presumably provide depth for the starting rotation, which is seemingly set with Danny Duffy, Ian Kennedy, Jason Hammel, Nate Karns and Jakob Junis. He will report to Royals camp on Friday.
