Plethora of prospects on Royals' Spring Training roster

The Royals’ Spring Training roster is set.
On Wednesday, the team announced the 23 players who have received an invitation to big league camp, joining the current 40-man roster. Of the 23 invitees, 11 were originally signed or drafted by Kansas City, five are returning to the organization and seven are new to the squad. The 23 players consist of 10 pitchers, five catchers, five infielders and three outfielders.
Kansas City's camp will feature 11 of its Top 30 prospects based on MLB Pipeline’s 2023 rankings: infielder Nick Loftin (No. 5), catcher Carter Jensen (No. 7), outfielder Tyler Gentry (No. 8), right-hander Chandler Champlain (No. 11), righty Mason Barnett (No. 12), outfielder Diego Hernandez (No. 15), left-hander Anthony Veneziano (No. 16), righty Matt Sauer (No. 22), right-hander Josh McMillon (No. 25), righty Will Klein (No. 26) and infielder Devin Mann (No. 28).

Outfielders: Nate Eaton, Diego Hernandez, John Rave
In five weeks, pitchers and catchers will have their first workout at Royals camp in Surprise, Ariz., on Feb. 14. The first full squad workout is scheduled for Feb. 19.
