Odor's oblique injury 'better than anticipated'

The Rangers are cautiously optimistic about second baseman Rougned Odor after he left Saturday’s 7-3 loss to the Giants with tightness in his right oblique muscle.
Odor batted in the top of the third and grounded out to short. He did not go out on defense in the bottom of the inning because the oblique tightened up on him in the cool San Francisco weather.
“I thought it was actually going to be worse,” manager Chris Woodward said. “I don't know if we dodged a bullet or not. It was in the oblique area. It was on the back side of his oblique. We'll see. He said it's just tight right now.”
Odor went through several tests in the Rangers clubhouse after leaving the game and seemed to do well in those, Woodward said. The Rangers have not scheduled Odor for an MRI.
“He seemed to be better than we anticipated,” Woodward said. “We don't know if it will be [injured list] but I think we dodged a bullet on missing some significant time, which I was happy about because when he came out I wasn't too optimistic.”
Nick Solak, who began the game in left field, moved to second base. Adolis García took over in left field. The Rangers were already missing outfielder Danny Santana, who is limited to pinch-hitting duties because of a strained right forearm.
