CINCINNATI – In a move that added catching depth on Friday, the Reds agreed to terms with Rocky Gale on a Minor League contract. Gale will be invited to Spring Training as a non-roster player.

Over parts of four seasons, the 32-year-old Gale is a .108 hitter (4-for-37) with one homer in 22 big league games with the Padres and Dodgers. The last of those came in 2019 for Los Angeles, and he spent 2020 at that club’s alternate site.

In his 10 Minor League seasons, Gale is a .263/.306/.333 hitter with 17 homers.
