This is Hill’s third Pitcher of the Month Award; he also won in May 2016 with the A’s and July 2017 with the Dodgers. He is the first Rays pitcher to take home the award since Tampa Bay took home three consecutive titles, Blake Snell in August and September 2018 and Tyler Glasnow in April 2019. At 41 years, 2 months, and 21 days old, Hill is also the oldest Pitcher of the Month since Trevor Hoffman won for April 2009 (41 years, 6 months, 19 days), and the oldest starter to do so since Roger Clemens in April 2004 (41 years, 8 months, 28 days).
Gausman has never won the Pitcher of the Month Award. He is the first Giant to do so since Madison Bumgarner in August 2014.
