Hunter Greene, the Reds' No. 2 prospect and the 54th-ranked prospect in baseball overall, turned in his finest start since being promoted to Triple-A Louisville when he tossed five scoreless frames against Nashville on Saturday night.
The 21-year-old right-hander yielded just two hits while walking two and striking out nine to lower his Triple-A ERA to 4.28 in six starts. Prior to his promotion, he posted a 1.98 ERA over seven starts for Double-A Chattanooga.
Greene also picked up his third hit for Louisville with a sixth-inning single to raise his Triple-A batting average to .273.
Greene threw 87 pitches over five frames, 55 of which were strikes. He gave way to Reiver Sanmartin and the Louisville bullpen in the sixth.
