CINCINNATI -- The Reds had a flurry of roster moves on Friday that removed players from the 40-man roster and added some.
Right-handed reliever Matt Bowman was claimed off of waivers from the Cardinals. Meanwhile, second baseman Dilson Herrera and outfielder Mason Williams cleared waivers and were sent outright to Triple-A Louisville.
Infielder/outfielder Brandon Dixon was claimed off waivers by the Tigers, while right-handed reliever Austin Brice was a waiver claim by the Angels.
Reinstated from the 60-day disabled list were outfielder Jesse Winker, infielder Alex Blandino and right-handed pitcher Keury Mella.
Bowman, 27, was a Rule 5 Draft pick by St. Louis from the Mets before the 2016 season and spent the last three seasons in the Cardinals' bullpen. Over 156 games, he is 5-13 with a 4.10 ERA and 1.27 WHIP.
In 74 games during his rookie year, Dixon batted .178 with five home runs and 10 RBIs.
Brice was 2-3 with a 5.79 ERA in 33 big league games over four stints with the Reds last season.
