Reds-Braves postponed; split doubleheader set for Wednesday

ATLANTA -- Rain has soaked Truist Park in the Braves’ first homestand back from the All-Star break.

Tuesday night’s scheduled game against the Reds was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Wednesday. Game 1 is scheduled for 12:20 p.m. ET and Game 2 is set for 6:05 p.m.

Chris Sale, who was set to start Tuesday’s game, will now start the nightcap and Allan Winans will be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to start Game 1 on Wednesday.

Cincinnati plans to have Frankie Montas start Game 1, as scheduled. Nick Martinez, who was slated to be Tuesday's starter, will get the ball for Game 2.

It will be the second doubleheader of the homestand for the Braves. Atlanta’s game against the Cardinals on Friday was postponed due to weather and made up as part of a split doubleheader the following day.
