Rangers to meet President Biden, visit White House on Thursday

Arlington, TX—Members of the 2023 World Champion Texas Rangers are scheduled to meet with the 46th President of the United States Joseph R. Biden at the White House in Washington, D.C. this coming Thursday, August 8.

The announcement was made on Sunday by the White House.

This will be the first time that the Rangers have made a White House visit, an honor that customarily goes to each year’s World Series champion. Texas won its first championship in franchise history by defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 5 of the 2023 Fall Classic on November 1.

Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Young, manager Bruce Bochy and players, coaches, and field staff from the 2023 World Champions will fly from Texas to Washington, D.C. following Wednesday afternoon’s game with Houston and are expected to meet with President Biden at approximately 4:00 p.m. ET on Thursday. After the ceremony, the Rangers will travel to New York to open a three-game series against the Yankees on Friday, August 9.

This will mark the fourth time that Bochy has visited the White House as the defending World Series champion manager following trips with the San Francisco Giants in 2011, 2013, and 2015.
