American Dairy Queen renews partnership with MLB, featuring four new players in marketing campaign
Major League Baseball and American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ), a leader in iconic treats and food, today announced a renewed partnership that will see four MLB All-Stars featured in new DQ marketing campaigns: Ozzie Albies, Kris Bryant, Byron Buxton and Freddie Freeman.
Bryant and Freeman will appear in TV and online video spots and social media promoting the brand’s Miracle Treat Day and Summer Blizzard Treat Menu, while Albies and Buxton are set to star in their own set of DQ creative to promote the new 85 cent Blizzard deal in the DQ App.
The DQ brand is also partnering with Little League International this year, making DQ the Official Postgame Destination of Little League. ADQ will feature Little Leaguers® in their May Summer Blizzard Treat Menu creative spots and cross-promote this new partnership across all their digital media channels. The Little League Baseball World Series presented by T-Mobile will also air supporting video promotions during their broadcast on ESPN.
“DQ has long been the postgame celebration spot of choice for families and teams looking for delicious food and treats like our Summer Blizzard Treat Menu, and we’re continuing to partner with MLB and now Little League to give fans their sweetest summer yet,” said Becky Felling, Vice President of Marketing Communications at ADQ. “Across a season full of surprises and partnerships, fans can get ready to treat themselves like champions with our signature items and DQ App offerings.”
As a way of extending its long-time support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the annual Miracle Treat Day, ADQ is also sponsoring a Champion and their family from a local children’s hospital to attend the 2023 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard in Seattle with the ultimate VIP experience.
All season long, DQ will engage baseball fans and players around its iconic summer offerings. In celebration of the beloved DQ Summer Blizzard Treat Menu tradition and the Blizzard Treat’s debut back in 1985, DQ will offer fans a small Blizzard Treat for $0.85, only available in the DQ mobile app from April 10-23*. ADQ is planning to air national advertising during MLB game broadcasts and across cable and streaming networks. Additionally, DQ restaurants nationwide will offer Blizzard Treat and beverage cups with a special MLB theme.
MLB will host a series of DQ branded sweepstakes this season. The first sweepstakes will award two lucky fans and their guests a chance to win a trip to the Midsummer Classic, while a second sweepstakes offers a chance to win a trip to the 2023 World Series presented by Capital One.
Additionally, the DQ brand will continue to sponsor Grand Slams throughout the summer. The Happy 4 Grand Slams content series will be presented across MLB digital and social media platforms, as well as MLB Network.
