Fans are often granted access to footage and pictures of a top prospect’s arrival at the park and their initial steps onto the field. But rarely do they get the kind of insight that the Pirates are providing in “Run It Back,” an original video series that debuted on Wednesday.

The series, which is slated for six episodes that each feature a different Pirates player, gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at formative moments, including arrivals, MLB debuts, milestones and more. These first steps might have been too big to put into words at the time for the players involved, but now, they’re finding the words to describe the cherished memories all these months and years later.

The Pirates have been host to a ton of these moments, with many of their top prospects getting their first tastes of the big leagues over the past few seasons, so there won’t be any shortage of content.

The first episode of “Run It Back” is about one of the Pirates’ most outgoing and vibrant players: Liover Peguero. The infielder looks back at videos from some of the biggest moments from his early days in MLB and talks us through what he was feeling at the time.

Some highlights include Peguero’s first trip to Pittsburgh as a big leaguer, his first MLB home run off a five-time All-Star starter and the first time he shared the Bucs’ clubhouse with best friend and Pirates second baseman Nick Gonzales. Plus, he explains why he thinks the Pirates will be in the playoffs next year.

Stay tuned to see which other Pirates will be featured in the upcoming installments of “Run It Back.”
