To say Oneil Cruz is in a zone at the plate is probably an understatement.
The Pirates' No. 3 prospect (No. 52 overall), according to MLB Pipeline, went 4-for-5 with a double, a homer and two RBIs in Triple-A Indianapolis' 5-4, 10-inning win over Nashville on Wednesday night at Victory Field.
With another tremendous performance, Cruz is 9-for-12 with three home runs over his past three games, and in his first five games with Indianapolis after a promotion from Double-A Altoona, the shortstop is hitting .526 with four homers.
Prior to his promotion to Triple-A, Cruz hit .292/.346/.536 with 12 homers and 18 steals in 62 games for Altoona.
At this rate, the 22-year-old could be in Pittsburgh sooner rather than later.
