Nationals-Pirates game postponed, split DH Saturday

PITTSBURGH -- The Pirates’ game against the Nationals scheduled for Friday night at PNC Park was postponed due to rain.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday, with first pitch for Game 1 set for 1:35 p.m. ET. Game 2 will continue as slated at 6:40 p.m.

Tickets that were purchased for Friday’s scheduled game will be valid for Game 1 of the split doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Fans will also have the opportunity to exchange their tickets for a different date’s game. For more information on the Pirates’ ticketing policy, visit pirates.com/raincheck.

The Pirates kept their starting pitchers in their scheduled order, with righty Luis L. Ortiz set to start Game 1 and Mitch Keller slated to start the nightcap.

The Nationals’ pitching plans will also stay the same, with left-hander DJ Herz starting in Game 1 followed by right-hander Mitchell Parker in Game 2.

Friday night’s game is the first game postponed at PNC Park this season.
