Phillies-Orioles series opener postponed

BALTIMORE -- After waiting for more than three hours, Tuesday night's Phillies-Orioles game was postponed due to inclement weather.
The teams will play a makeup game on Thursday, July 12, with the time to be determined. Tickets for Tuesday's game will be automatically honored for the makeup game.
The threat of poor weather coming Tuesday night caused the Orioles to tarp the field at 7 p.m. ET. About an hour later, the rain started with the weather forecast showing no window for the foreseeable future. The Orioles-Phillies Wednesday afternoon game was pushed up to 12:05 p.m. ET in hopes of getting it in despite another poor weather forecast.

Right-hander Andrew Cashner, who was slated to start Tuesday, will take the mound on Wednesday instead. The Phillies' Nick Pivetta, who was Tuesday's starter, will pitch Wednesday.
Fans unable to attend the July 12 makeup game may exchange the value of their May 15 tickets toward any remaining home game this season, subject to availability.
