PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillie Phanatic teamed up with Blippi in a collaborative effort to teach young children about all the things that go into playing baseball -- and hosting a Major League Baseball game.

Blippi, a program for toddlers and preschoolers, is available in more than 20 languages and reaches one billion monthly views across YouTube, Netflix, HBO Max and Amazon. The latest installment, “Blippi Hits a Home Run,” premiered Saturday on Blippi’s YouTube channel.

In the episode, the Phanatic -- and some of his friends -- guide Blippi around Citizens Bank Park to show him all that the game has to offer. Former Phillies second baseman and current club ambassador Mickey Morandini kicks things off by showing Blippi some of the fundamentals to learning the game of baseball.

Blippi then works his way through the crowd, where he orders some food from Samantha, one of the ballpark’s talented popcorn vendors. Before he can dig in, though, the Phanatic uses his legendary cannon to fire a perfectly placed hot dog directly into Blippi’s popcorn box.

The episode premieres on the same day that the Phillies host Kids Opening Day at their 4:05 p.m. ET game against the Rockies. The Phanatic, meanwhile, will keep the festivities going on Sunday, when he and some of his closest mascot pals celebrate his birthday in the noon ET series finale.

The collaboration between Major League Baseball and Moonbug Entertainment was designed to reach kids through Blippi’s relatable, accessible experiences as part of MLB’s efforts to reach fans of all ages.
