Phillies sign outfielder Lough to Minors deal

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies added another outfielder to the Spring Training mix.
The Phils announced Monday afternoon they had signed David Lough to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training. Lough, 30, made 144 plate appearances last season with the Orioles, hitting .201 with a .555 OPS.
Lough has spent parts of four seasons in the big leagues, including his first two with the Royals in 2012-13. He has hit a combined .255 with a .672 OPS in those seasons.
Outfielders Odubel Herrera, Peter Bourjos, Aaron Altherr, Cody Asche and Tyler Goeddel enter Spring Training as favorites to make the Phillies' Opening Day roster.
