Not only was the 22-year-old unhittable, but he was nearly perfect. Arauz retired the first 19 batters he faced before issuing a one-out walk in the seventh. However, he quickly got back on track and retired the next two batters he faced to complete the no-hit feat.
Arauz was hit hard in his last start as he lasted just four innings and gave up six runs on 10 hits.
The right-hander got off to a fast start Sunday as he struck out the first two batters he faced, setting the tone for a historic afternoon. Arauz struck out the side in the third and notched at least one strikeout in six innings. He improved to 4-2 and now holds a 2.03 ERA for Clearwater.
