PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies third baseman Maikel Franco suffered a scary fall into the camera well along the third-base line in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Nationals at Citizens Bank Park. Fortunately, he said he is fine, other than a bruised right shoulder and tightness in his neck.
Franco flipped completely over the railing and fell hard into the well. Third-base umpire Hunter Wendelstedt and Phillies players immediately waved for help from the Phillies' dugout. Franco eventually emerged and walked back to the dugout on his own.
"I mean, I don't know," Franco said, asked what he hit on the way down. "I don't have anything. I feel like I lost everything in that moment. I don't know when I hit the floor or what was going on."
Pedro Florimón entered the game at shortstop. Asdrúbal Cabrera moved from shortstop to third.
