Padres-Mariners series moved to San Diego

Due to the uncertainty over the air quality in Seattle, the Mariners will stay in California and play their upcoming three-game series with the Padres this weekend in San Diego instead of returning to T-Mobile Park.

The Mariners had already moved their two-game home series against the Giants to San Francisco on Wednesday and Thursday after heavy smoke from wildfires on the West Coast made conditions difficult in Seattle.

Friday’s game will be at 6:40 p.m. PT at Petco Park, with Saturday’s game at 6:10 p.m. and Sunday’s series finale at 1:10 p.m.

The Mariners will be the home team in all three games, as they were with both games against the Giants at Oracle Park.

The Mariners have three further games remaining on their home schedule, with the Astros slated to play in Seattle next Monday through Wednesday before closing their season with four games in Oakland on Sept. 25-27, including a doubleheader on Sept. 26 that includes one makeup game from an earlier postponement due to a positive COVID-19 test by an A’s player.
