The Braves shored up their depth on Tuesday with a pair of moves that will keep Orlando Arcia and Guillermo Heredia in Atlanta.
Atlanta agreed to a two-year, $3 million deal with Arcia that includes a club option, and agreed to a one-year, $1 million deal with Heredia.
Arcia, primarily a shortstop in his career, played mostly left field in a reserve role for the Braves after they acquired him in a trade with the Brewers in April. The 27-year-old hit .214 with two home runs and 13 RBIs in 32 games with Atlanta.
Heredia, a good defensive center fielder, played 120 games for the Braves in 2021 after they claimed him off waivers from the Mets in February. The 30-year-old hit .220 with five home runs and 26 RBIs.
