Oriole Park at Camden Yards offering vaccines

Over the past year, Oriole Park at Camden Yards has masqueraded as a voting center, a food distribution site and a COVID-19 testing facility on top of its regular role as one of Major League Baseball’s destination ballparks. Now it’s becoming a vaccination site.

The Orioles will begin hosting on-site vaccination opportunities at the storied ballpark beginning Friday, the club announced this week. The vaccination opportunities are part of the new “MLB Vaccinate at the Plate” program, which seeks to increase vaccination rates and help communities recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by offering incentives to unvaccinated fans.

All fans ages 18 and over who choose to receive the vaccine will receive a voucher for two complimentary lower-level tickets redeemable for any game through July 11.

The vaccine offered will be the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, per the club. Vaccinations will be offered at Dempsey’s Brew Pub & Restaurant, along the Eutaw Street promenade. Game tickets are not required to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at Oriole Park. Fans my pre-register for appointments at orioles.com/vaccine. Appointments are encouraged but not required, and walk-ups will be accommodated, the club said.

The effort is part of the Orioles’ ongoing commitment to promoting vaccinations and community health. The O's were one of the first clubs to reach MLB’s recommended 85 percent vaccination threshold, and they have routinely championed mask-wearing and vaccines throughout the pandemic.
