BALTIMORE -- The Orioles optioned Andrew Susac to Triple-A Norfolk after Saturday's 8-5 loss to the Yankees, a roster move that makes it look as if catcher Caleb Joseph will be rejoining the big league club.
The club has not announced a corresponding move, though obviously it will need a second catcher for Sunday afternoon's series finale against New York.
Susac did not play on Friday; rookie catcher Chance Sisco got the start. Susac was recalled in Joseph's stead on May 17 and hit .115 (3-for-26). For Norfolk, Susac hit .296 in 16 games (13 as catcher) with four doubles, three homers, six runs and 14 RBIs.
Joseph, 32, hit .182 with one homer and three RBIs in 24 games for the Orioles before he was demoted.
