BALTIMORE -- The Orioles announced Wednesday afternoon that they claimed infielder Luis Sardiñas off waivers from the Padres.
Sardinas, who was designated for assignment on Sunday, has a .163 average and one RBI in 49 at-bats. He was bumped off the Padres' roster when they claimed infielder Chase d'Arnaud from the Red Sox. The 24-year-old switch-hitter, who is from Venezuela, is a career .229 hitter in parts of four seasons in the Majors.
With the move, which gives the O's some infield depth, Baltimore's 40-man roster is full.
