Thursday's top offseason prospect performers
Here's a look at Thursday’s top performers in the Fall and Winter Leagues from each team's Top 30 Prospects list.
Blue Jays: Gabriel Moreno, C (MLB No. 32), Mesa Solar Sox
Moreno shrugged off a 2-for-12 skein in his previous three games and tallied three hits and three RBIs in Mesa's slugfest with Salt River. The 21-year-old laced a two-run double, his AFL-best 10th, and added an RBI single and another knock for his third game with three or more hits. With hits in nine of his last 10 games, Moreno lifted his slash line to .348/.427/.536 in 82 plate appearances for the Solar Sox. The Venezuela native has amassed 17 RBIs, 15 runs scored and 11 extra-base hits. More »

Mets: Brett Baty, 3B (MLB No. 45), Salt River Rafters
A 3-for-26 finish to October put up a roadblock to Baty’s hot start to the Fall League campaign. However, the 21-year-old has gotten back in the swing of things this month after his second three-hit performance in six games. Baty reached base four times on three singles and a walk, scored three runs and drove in another to lift his slash line back up to .276/.371/.395. The Texas native is batting .345 with a .804 OPS, three RBIs and four walks in 33 plate appearances in November.
Giants: Heliot Ramos, OF (MLB No. 80), Cangrejeros de Santurce
Competing in his native Puerto Rico, Ramos slugged his first home run and reached base three times. The 22-year-old opened the scoring with a two-out solo jack in the third, singled and walked. In a subpar season, Ramos reached Triple-A for the first time in 2021 and hit better with Sacramento than with Double-A Richmond. Overall, the 2017 first-round Draft pick batted .254/.323/.416 with 42 extra-base hits and 56 RBIs in 116 games. Ramos is 3-for-8 in his first two Winter League games.
Phillies: Bryson Stott, SS (MLB No. 97), Peoria Javelinas
Stott’s RBI prowess this fall -- his 21 RBIs entering play ranked third on the circuit -- came without the benefit of a home run. That ended with his first long ball for Peoria, a fifth-inning solo shot that broke the ice in a scoreless affair. The 24-year-old added a pair of singles to snap out of a 2-for-23 start to the month that had dragged his average down from .409 to .299. Stott’s third game with three or more hits pushed his slash line back up to .319/.454/.458 with seven extra-base hits and 20 walks in 97 plate appearances.
A's: Logan Davidson, 3B (No. 12), Mesa Solar Sox
Davidson found the ideal way to cap his perfect night at the plate. Having already reached safely four times on a pair of singles and two walks, the 23-year-old launched his first long ball, a two-run shot to cap Mesa's offensive outburst. Davidson scored a game-high four runs and added another RBI knock. The 2019 first-round Draft pick has heated up since the calendar flipped to November. After batting .242 with a .768 OPS in nine games last month, he's hitting .333/.457/.444 in his last seven contests. Overall, Davidson has produced a .283/.429/.400 slash line with nine RBIs and five extra-base hits.

Red Sox: Connor Seabold, RHP (No. 13), Scottsdale Scorpions
Seabold’s AFL campaign reached a high point during his sixth start. After allowing multiple runs in four of his previous five outings, the 25-year-old worked around trouble in the first and third innings en route to his first scoreless effort. Seabold struck out six, including the last two batters he faced with runners on second and third. Although the California native sports a 4.87 ERA, he’s fanned 23 in 20 1/3 innings while holding batters to a .224 average.
Brewers: David Hamilton, SS (No. 16), Salt River Rafters
Hamilton's offensive imprint was all over the game for Salt River. The 24-year-old was hitting well enough entering the night -- a .292 average and a .792 OPS -- but he'd managed just one RBI in 29 plate appearances. He added four to his total on the strength of three hits, including a two-run double and a two-run triple. Milwaukee's eighth-round pick in the 2019 Draft capped his perfect night with a pair of walks and his third stolen base in four attempts. Hamilton made his professional debut this past season and compiled a .258/.341/.420 batting line with 38 extra-base hits and 52 stolen bases in 101 games.

Cardinals: Brendan Donovan, OF (No. 17), Glendale Desert Dogs
With a spot in Saturday’s Fall Stars Game still in play via fan voting, Donovan made sure he won’t go unnoticed. The 24-year-old homered for a second straight game and walked three times during a losing effort. Donovan rocketed a 107-mph, 416-foot two-run homer in the sixth to give Glendale a short-lived lead. The South Alabama product has reached via a hit or walk in 11 of his 12 games, including eight free passes in his previous five. Donovan is batting .350/.471/.625 with seven extra-base hits and seven RBIs in 51 plate appearances. More »
Nationals: Drew Millas, C (No. 20), Surprise Saguaros
Millas hit his first homer of the fall and added a single in his first multihit effort since Oct. 26. The 23-year-old, who also walked for the first time in five games, has lifted his average 66 points during his hitting streak, going 5-for-15 with two RBIs in that stretch. Millas got off to a rough start in AFL competition, collecting four hits in his first 28 at-bats. The St. Louis, Mo., native batted .264/.372/.348 and swiped 15 bases in 18 attempts in his first professional season in 2021.
Braves: William Woods, RHP (No. 28), Peoria Javelinas
Woods matched zeros with Seabold through three innings and went one further, equaling his Fall League high with four scoreless frames. The 22-year-old retired seven straight to begin the game before yielding consecutive singles in the third, the only two hits he allowed. Woods worked around a walk in his final inning and finished with seven strikeouts while tossing 46 of 66 pitches for strikes. The Tennessee native lowered his ERA to 4.24 and is averaging a strikeout per inning in 17 frames. More »
