DENVER -- As expected when he was taken by the Reds as the overall No. 2 pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, third baseman Nick Senzel is progressing quickly up the system and adjusting well at each stop. It's happening again the past couple of weeks with Double-A Pensacola, where he was promoted to a couple of weeks ago.
Senzel, and pitcher Jimmy Herget from Triple-A Louisville will get to display their skills for the U.S. squad during the Sirius-XM All-Star Futures Game. It will be at 4 p.m. ET today at Marlins Park in Miami and broadcast live on MLB Network and streamed on MLB.com.

"I'm just grateful for the opportunity, and humbled to represent the organization along with Jimmy Herget," Senzel said by phone Wednesday before Pensacola's game at Biloxi. "I know it's going to be a fun experience. I'm excited to meet some of those great players down there and compete in the game.
"It's been a fun and exciting year so far. Adding this to the list makes me very happy."
In 13 games since moving up to Pensacola from Class A Advanced Daytona, Senzel is batting .318/.400/.409 with one home run and nine RBIs. During his current seven-game hitting streak, he's had a pair of two-hit games and one three-hit game -- on Monday when he hit a homer.
At Daytona, Senzel batted .305/.371/.476 with four homers and 31 RBIs in 62 games. He is ranked as the Reds' No. 1 prospect, and No. 19 overall, by MLBPipeline.com.
"Guys are a little bit better but it's the same game," Senzel said of Double-A. "You just have to prepare and put yourself in the best position to be successful."
Senzel, 22, has 12 strikeouts, but has also walked six times against Southern League pitchers.
"It's one thing I've been proud of myself about at this level," he said. "I've been taking some good at-bats against some good arms. As long as I'm seeing them well and taking good at-bats, I'm fine. It's very comforting to be taking some good at-bats."

Herget, 23, has also transitioned nicely since his move from Pensacola up to Louisville on June 19. In seven games, he has a 2.00 ERA, a 0.78 WHIP, two walks and 11 strikeouts over nine innings. Of his four saves, two of them required him to notch six outs.
MLBPipeline.com ranks the right-handed Herget as the Reds organization's No. 17 prospect. The sixth-round pick in 2015 had a 2.73 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 16 saves in 24 appearances for Pensacola.
Reds manager Bryan Price got a chance to see Herget work during Spring Training and liked what he saw, and the reports he has received during the season.
"Terrific, good stuff from multiple angles and he throws strikes," Price said. "It's a really good combination. He has good velocity and kind of like Bronson Arroyo, he can change the arm slot with his fastball and breaking pitches. He has the overhand curveball, the sweeping breaking pitch and harder, a more lateral slider and he knows how to use it all. He can come over the top at 95-96 mph. It's a pretty neat package for a young relief pitcher. I'm excited about him, and I know he's doing well at Triple-A."
