CINCINNATI -- The Reds’ top prospect, pitcher Nick Lodolo, will be the organization’s representative at the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game in Colorado.
Lodolo, ranked as the No. 43 overall prospect in baseball by MLB Pipeline, was the seventh overall pick in the 2019 Draft by the Reds.

In six starts for Double-A Chattanooga this season, the left-handed Lodolo is 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA, six walks and 45 strikeouts over 30 innings. The 23-year-old has not pitched since June 12, however, and is on the injured list because of blisters on his pitching hand.
“That’s a great honor. Obviously, well deserved,” Reds manager David Bell said of Lodolo. “Every report that you could possibly get on a guy has been nothing but positive in every way. Developing quickly, right on track, getting better. His approach to the game, his approach to pitching, the performance, everything.”

Lodolo was with the Reds during 2020 Spring Training and Summer Camp and spent last season at the team’s alternate training site. During 2021 Spring Training, he was in Minor League camp but appeared in big league exhibition games.
“We’ve really enjoyed our time around him, and he’s right on track,” Bell said. “I think this seems like it’ll be a great experience. I’ve never been a part of that game, but it definitely seems like something that you’re around a lot of future Major Leaguers and you get an opportunity to play with the spotlight a little bit. It just seems like a great experience, a great thing to be a part of.
“We’re obviously really happy for Nick to be able to do that.”
