Jeremy Guthrie has signed with the Nationals on a Minor League deal with an invitation to Spring Training, the team announced Friday.
Washington has been looking for rotation depth, and the Guthrie signing gives the team another cheap, veteran option, in the same vein as the signing of Vance Worley to a similar deal last Saturday.

Guthrie last pitched in the Majors for the Royals in 2015, when the right-hander went 8-8 with a 5.95 ERA in 148 1/3 innings over 30 games (24 starts). He spent last season pitching for the Padres and Marlins' Triple-A affiliates, but he did not make any big league appearances.
The 37-year-old has pitched 12 years in the Majors, including stints with the Indians, Orioles, Rockies and Royals.
