ATLANTA -- Saturday's game between the Nationals and Braves entered a delay before the top of the sixth inning due to inclement weather. As rain fell down at SunTrust Park, Nats left-hander Oliver Pérez gave the grounds crew a helping hand to cover the field.
Atlanta held a 3-2 lead thanks to a pair of home runs. Rio Ruiz, the club's No. 22 prospect as rated by MLBPipeline.com, hammered a two-run homer in the second inning, and Matt Kemp added a solo shot in the fourth.

Both homers came off Washington right-hander Max Scherzer, who struck out six and threw 106 pitches in five innings. The Nationals were held scoreless by right-hander Bartolo Colon until the fifth when they got on the board thanks to RBI singles from Trea Turner and Jayson Werth.
