Players and managers throughout Major League Baseball will don special pink gear today as part of a league-wide celebration of Mother's Day.
For the second consecutive year, the league has created Mother's Day jerseys that incorporate rosy hues into the clubs' traditional logos. Uniforms include caps featuring a graphite crown and pink visor and, for the first time, clubs can choose from two unique pairs of pink-infused socks.
Big leaguers have swung pink bats, sported ribbons and worn pink wristbands and sleeves on Mother's Day since 2006 to help raise money and awareness to fight breast cancer. The tradition continues as we honor all the incredible women who helped raise us during one of the most festive days of the regular season.
For one day only, in honor of Mother's Day, MLB.TV Premium is just $79.99, with nearly two dozen features for subscribers to access and interact with live out-of-market Major League Baseball games at 60 frames per second on any of the more than 400 supported devices.
Here's what to watch for throughout the day (all times ET):
Double dip in D.C.: PHI@WSH, 1:35 p.m. (Game 1), 7:05 p.m. (Game 2)
The Phillies and Nationals are slated to play a day-night doubleheader after Friday evening's contest was washed out by inclement weather in the Washington, D.C., area.
Jeremy Hellickson (4-1, 3.49 ERA) and Gio González (3-1, 2.64) square off in the early game before Vince Velasquez (2-3, 5.94) faces Max Scherzer (4-2, 2.59) in the nightcap.

Velasquez and Scherzer matched up on April 7, when Washington beat Philadelphia, 7-6. Scherzer picked up the win, and Velasquez took the loss, but the latter struck out a season-high 10 Nationals.
Griffin looks to remain unbeaten: OAK@TEX, 3:05 p.m.
Following a two-year hiatus from the Majors in part because he underwent Tommy John surgery, right-hander A.J. Griffin returned to the big leagues in 2016 with the Rangers, and compiled a 7-4 record and 5.07 ERA in 119 innings.

The 29-year-old, who went 7-1 with a 3.06 ERA in his 2012 rookie season with the Athletics, appears to be finally back to his pre-injury form. Griffin is 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA in five starts for Texas, and will make his sixth start on the heels of his first complete game since 2013, an 11-0 victory over the Padres on May 9.
Griffin will face Kendall Graveman (2-2, 3.67), who went seven innings in his last start, striking out six in a no-decision against the Angels.
Duel of the youngsters: LAD@COL, 3:10 p.m.
Two exciting young hurlers go head-to-head when Dodgers' left-hander Julio Urías meets Rockies' right-hander Antonio Senzatela. Urías, 20, has not factored in a decision yet this season, but is coming off his best outing of the year in which he gave up one run on one hit with five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings versus the Pirates.

Senzatela is off to a fabulous start in his rookie season. The 22-year-old has completed at least six innings in every start after his MLB debut April 6, when he went five innings. He's 5-1 with a 2.86 ERA in seven starts, and has been reasonably efficient, not having eclipsed 100 pitches in any outing.
Let's play two: HOU@NYY, 2:05 p.m. (Game 1), 8:05 p.m. (Game 2, ESPN)
Sunday is a big day in the Bronx. Not only is there a doubleheader scheduled at Yankee Stadium on Mother's Day; the Yankees will also honor legendary shortstop Derek Jeter by enshrining him among Yankees icons in Monument Park and retiring his No. 2 jersey.
