Mr. Do It All: Betts nominated for 2024 Sports Emmy

We're still on the hunt for something Mookie Betts can't do.

In the past year, the two-time World Series champion has finished second in 2023 National League MVP voting, made a "semi-permanent" move to the infield and taken over as the starting shortstop for the most star-studded team in baseball.

But for Betts, there's no such thing as quitting while you're ahead. The 31-year-old has also been nominated for a 2024 Sports Emmy for Emerging On-Air Talent for his work with Bleacher Report, TBS and FOX Sports.

"Congratulations to Mookie. I would not have seen this happening a few years ago, and to see his openness to doing this and to see how good he is as a host, it’s pretty impressive," manager Dave Roberts said before Tuesday's game against the Twins. "He does have a lot of interests and he finds a way to be good at everything. So it’s no surprise that he’s been nominated."

Since 2023, Betts has hosted Bleacher Report's On Base With Mookie Betts podcast, interviewing fellow MLB stars about their experiences on and off the field.

"I applaud him for trying to be a little uncomfortable and trying to tap into a different part of his personality," Roberts said. "He’s very engaging, he asks very good questions, and he does a really good job."

Betts is up for the award alongside Noah Eagle (NBC Sports), Carli Lloyd (FS1), Taylor Rooks (TNT Sports) and Jay Wright (CBS Sports).
