What do you get when you combine baseball, outer space, a comedian and a blue puppet?
You get “MLB’s Traveling Spaceship Show,” a retro-themed program that will showcase long-forgotten and interesting highlights and clips from baseball of yesteryear.
The new show, which will be available to stream on MLB.TV on Friday before airing on MLB Network at 11 a.m. ET on Sunday, will be hosted by diehard baseball fan, comedian and writer Sarah Tiana. Tiana is the captain of “the Round Tripper” and will navigate her way through the galaxy of baseball history with Jax, her rambunctious puppet co-pilot.
They’ll also have a supercomputer named “B.O.B.” -- voiced by Hall of Fame MLB Network broadcaster Bob Costas -- at their disposal as they travel through space and time. B.O.B. will help Tiana and Jax choose specific cities, ballparks, teams and historically great games to visit.
The group will also be aided by “The Collector,” who provides the team with rhyming clues to retrieve baseball memorabilia from their adventurous travels.
“I grew up watching baseball in front of a wood stove with a TV antenna the size of a flag pole,” said Tiana, who recently collaborated alongside host Roy Wood Jr. on MLB’s All-MLB Awards Show in Las Vegas.

“To be on a show that utilizes nostalgic baseball clips takes me back to all those fantastic, grainy moments. I hope it does the same for everyone else and maybe gives you a few laughs, too. Step aside, Jeter. There’s a new Captain in town (me)!”
For its maiden adventure, the Traveling Spaceship Show team will head to Seattle, where the Captain and Jax discuss the best food Seattle has to offer, visit Mariners mascot Mariner Moose and have a chat with Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr.
As for their game destination, they’ll go back to the legendary Game 5 of the 1995 American League Division Series between the Mariners and Yankees. Junior even gives the Captain and Jax a tip about a specific location to visit at a specific time in the Kingdome -- Section 220 in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The team leaves the Emerald City with quite a collection from the game, including baseball cards, a 1995 shirt, player figurines and a mascot plush toy.
Don’t miss the debut episode of “MLB’s Traveling Spaceship Show” and watch for more episodes on their way in 2025. The new series joins "Inside Stitch" and “Carded” as programs available both on MLB.TV and MLB Network.
