MLB Network to air seven-hour MLB Tonight presented by Camping World, July 3, at 11 a.m. EDT
Thursday, July 2 – With Major League Baseball teams returning to the field tomorrow, MLB Network will air a seven-hour MLB Tonight presented by Camping World, beginning at 11 a.m. EDT. MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger, Brian Kenny, Matt Vasgersian, Ron Darling, Dan Plesac, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci will discuss the 2020 Major League Baseball season, which is scheduled to begin July 23 and 24, throughout the program. Using MLB Network’s award-winning NTT Ballpark Cam system, MLB Network will show teams across the country undergoing baseball activities and workouts for the first time at 2020 Summer Camp presented by Camping World. As part of tomorrow’s MLB Tonight, correspondents will report from different stadiums, including MLB Network’s Scott Braun (Philadelphia Phillies), Alexa Datt (Washington Nationals), Jon Morosi (Chicago Cubs), Stephen Nelson (Texas Rangers) and Heidi Watney (New York Mets). Interviews with players and front office personnel, analysis of rosters, lineups and pitching staffs, and discussion on some of the unique features that will be part of the 2020 regular season, will be featured.
With Opening Day approaching, Intentional Talk presented by Toro, co-hosted by Chris Rose and Kevin Millar, and MLB Tonight presented by Camping World, are airing live at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. EDT, Monday through Friday. MLB Now hosted by Brian Kenny will join Intentional Talk and MLB Tonight in airing five days a week this Monday, July 6 at 4 p.m. EDT, and High Heat with Christopher Russo presented by Liberty Mutual, returns on Monday, July 13 at 1 p.m. EDT. MLB Network’s MLB Central, The Rundown and Quick Pitch will return during the first week of the MLB regular season.
The next installment of MLB Network’s new series The Sounds of Baseball will focus on 2003 Milwaukee Brewers’ Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker this Monday, July 6 at 7 p.m. EDT. From Hall of Famer Hank Aaron’s record-setting RBI night on May 1, 1975 to Hall of Famer Robin Yount recording his 3,000th career hit on September 9, 1992, MLB Network’s Bob Costas and Tom Verducci will look back at some of the greatest moments and calls from Uecker’s legendary career throughout the one-hour program. Featured within the episode will be Costas and Verducci sharing anecdotes, personal stories, and their thoughts on the impact Uecker had on the game and generations of fans. In celebration of Independence Day this Saturday, July 4, MLB Network will air three all-time July Fourth games, beginning with Dave Righetti’s no-hitter for the New York Yankees in 1983 at 11 p.m. EDT. The Washington Nationals’ 10th inning victory against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in 2011, will air at 1 p.m. EDT, followed by the New York Mets’ 16-13, 19-inning victory against the Atlanta Braves in 1985 at 3 p.m. EDT. New commentary from Costas, Verducci and former Mets All-Star pitcher and MLB Network analyst Ron Darling on what made the July 4, 1985 Mets at Braves game so memorable will be interspersed throughout the telecast. Leading up to the three games, MLB Network’s Play Ball program presented by Scotts will be a special Independence Day-themed episode at 10 a.m. EDT, featuring guests Nolan Arenado (Colorado Rockies) and Eric Hosmer (San Diego Padres).
