MLB contributes $1 million to Red Cross for hurricane recovery efforts
Major League Baseball today announced a contribution of $1 million to the American Red Cross to aid relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which have devastated many communities in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the United States.
This donation is being made through the MLB Together platform (www.MLBTogether.com) which serves as the league’s centralized social responsibility umbrella. MLB is an active member of the Red Cross Disaster Responder program, which includes an annual financial commitment for the organization’s critical disaster relief work.
The Red Cross is working in the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee to provide shelter, food, water, relief supplies and comfort to those still coping with the destruction by the Hurricanes.
Additionally, MLB is encouraging fans to support relief efforts by donating at redcross.org/mlb. The site will be shared via MLB social media platforms, MLB Network, MLB.com, MLB.tv and during broadcasts this Postseason.
