OAKLAND -- Mariners right fielder Mitch Haniger exited Tuesday night's 3-2 win over the A's in the bottom of the fifth inning, not long after he was hit on his right wrist by a pitch from Oakland starter Trevor Cahill.
After getting hit in the top of the fourth, Haniger played the field in the bottom of the frame, but he was taken out an inning later. X-rays were negative, and Haniger, who wore a thick ice wrap in the Mariners' clubhouse after the game, is day to day.
"All good, no break," Haniger said. "When I came in to see if I could pick up a bat, I couldn't really grip it too well, so that's why I came out."
Andrew Romine took over for Haniger in right in the fifth.
Haniger leads Seattle with 11 home runs and 36 RBIs.
The Mariners are already without Robinson Canó (suspension), Dee Gordon (fractured right big toe) and Nelson Cruz, who sat out his second consecutive game after getting hit by a pitch on his left elbow Saturday.
