Adam Wainwright, Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado have another Cardinals teammate joining them for this spring's World Baseball Classic: On Monday, it was announced that starting pitcher Miles Mikolas was "All in" for Team USA.

Mikolas is coming off a solid 2022 season, earning his second career trip to the All-Star Game while finishing third in the Majors in innings pitched (202 1/3).

International competition also isn't something new to the right-hander: He pitched three seasons with the Yomiuri Giants from 2015-17 before returning to the Majors in 2018. Should the United States face Japan in the semifinals or finals, he could go up against former teammates like current Yomiuri outfielder Hayato Sakamoto.

Though rosters won't be finalized until later this winter, here is how Team USA currently looks:

C: J.T. Realmuto, Will Smith
1B: Pete Alonso, Paul Goldschmidt
2B: Trevor Story
SS: Tim Anderson, Bobby Witt Jr.
3B: Nolan Arenado
OF: Mookie Betts, Cedric Mullins, Mike Trout, Kyle Tucker
SP: Nestor Cortes, Kyle Freeland, Merrill Kelly, Miles Mikolas, Brady Singer, Adam Wainwright, Logan Webb
RP: David Bednar, Ryan Pressly, Dillon Tate, Devin Williams

Team USA will begin its title defense on March 11 in Phoenix, taking on Mexico, Colombia, Canada and Great Britain in Pool C.
