Mike Trout refused to let the Angels go down quietly Saturday when he stepped in against Rays fireballer Ryne Stanek with his team down, 5-1, in the ninth.
On an 0-1 count, Trout turned on a 98.5 mph fastball from Stanek and deposited it a projected 430 feet into the left-field stands for his 14th home run of the season. It's the fastest pitch Trout has taken deep in his Major League career, surpassing a 98.2 mph heater thrown by Royals reliever Kelvin Herrera on May 15, 2013. Despite Trout's heroics, the Angels eventually fell to the Rays, 5-3.
Here are other notable Statcast™ plays from Saturday's action across the Major Leagues:
Travis Jankowski, Padres
San Diego's right fielder capped a 3-for-5 night with a terrific diving catch to seal the Padres' 6-2 win over the Pirates on Saturday. With two outs in the ninth, Jankowski covered 46 feet in just 3.3 seconds before diving to convert a 25 percent catch probability. That marked Jankowski's first 5-star play of 2018, to go along with a pair of 4-stars under his belt in just 18 games.

Jordan Hicks, Cardinals
St. Louis' setup man worked a scoreless seventh inning Saturday against the Phillies, and brought his best heat while doing so. Hicks fired three pitches over 102 mph to Odúbel Herrera, topping out at a season-best 103.2 mph that got Herrera to chase out of the zone. That pitch trails only the 103.3 mph hit by pitch that Aroldis Chapman threw to Jackie Bradley Jr. on May 8 for the fastest delivery in baseball this season.

Aaron Hicks, Yankees
New York's athletic outfielder made history Saturday when he became the first Yankee since Mickey Mantle in 1958 to record multiple inside-the-park home runs in the same season.

Hicks completed his second electric trip around the bases in 15.91 seconds -- just .02 seconds slower than the first one he recorded against the Tigers on April 13 -- to give him the Yankees' two fastest inside-the-park home runs since Statcast™ began tracking in 2015.
