D-backs prospect Buddy Kennedy had a few special video messages waiting for him after earning Arizona Fall League Hitter of the Week honors. But one stood out more than the others ... in more ways than one.
Featuring a new-look spiked hairdo, three-time American League MVP Mike Trout passed along his well wishes as the D-backs prospect received his award prior to the Rafters' game on Tuesday afternoon.
Kennedy and Trout both hail from Millville, N.J.
"Buddy, congrats on the AFL Player of the Week, man. That's huge," Trout said in the video. "You're doing big things out there. I'm proud of you, man. Just keep it going."

Trout and Kennedy are graduates of Millville Senior High School in southern New Jersey, albeit nine years apart. The two became friends after Trout met Kennedy prior to the latter's selection as an Arizona fifth-round pick in the 2017 Draft.
