Trout, Halos make 7-year-old's Make-A-Wish dream come true
You won’t see Mike Trout’s latest must-see highlight during any game. But what he did recently for a young fan should be watched by everyone.
Eli Velasquez is a 7-year-old boy who plays baseball despite being born with a life-threatening heart condition. He has undergone multiple open-heart surgeries and requires constant monitoring.
But he loves baseball, the Angels and Trout. With the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the fan and player connected before a game at Angel Stadium. But this wasn’t just a simple meetup: Eli got the full experience of being a big leaguer.
He wore a personalized Angels jersey before meeting Trout and his Angels teammates during batting practice. He got to play catch with the three-time AL MVP and hit in the batting cages, with Trout serving as the pitcher.
The day was capped off with Velasquez and Trout watching the postgame fireworks show together from the Angel Stadium field.
Mike Trout is an amazing player. He continues to prove that he is an extremely kind person, too.
