Clev's 'best fake coffee' to benefit B&G Clubs

SAN DIEGO -- As he works his way back to full health, Mike Clevinger can't quite make an impact for San Diego on the field right now. But he's making an impact off it.

Clevinger, the Padres' newly acquired right-hander, is raising money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Diego by promoting the best coffee shop in the postseason bubble.

Well, "the best fake coffee shop in the MLB bubble," Clevinger said.

Nicknamed "Sunshine," Clevinger is fully embracing his off-beat persona. He created the "Sunshine Coffee Co." -- which isn't a coffee company at all. It's t-shirts, coffee mugs and apparel to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego.

The right-hander is currently nursing a right-elbow impingement, but the Padres are hopeful he will be available if they advance past the Wild Card Series against the Cardinals. San Diego acquired Clevinger in a nine-player blockbuster at the Trade Deadline, and he’s been wholly embraced by his new city.
