Miguel Cabrera has accomplished plenty in his career: a World Series championship, two MVP Awards, a Triple Crown, four batting titles and, maybe most impressively, 469 home runs. That would suggest it might be hard to excite the 11-time All-Star on the diamond, but Brandon Dixon did just that in the Tigers' 8-7 loss to the Pirates on Wednesday night.
Dixon's 454-foot third inning home run at PNC Park, which was tied with Ronny Rodriguez for the longest homer by a Tiger this season, increased Detroit's lead over Pittsburgh to 7-1 and evoked a reaction from Cabrera -- eyes popped, mouth open, head wobbling -- that suggests he truly did not believe what he saw.
Even future Hall of Famers can be wowed from time to time.
