Marlins invite 28 non-roster players to camp

MIAMI -- The Miami Marlins today announced that they have extended invitations to Major League Spring Training camp to 28 non-roster players. The announcement was made by Marlins President of Baseball Operations Michael Hill.
The Marlins have signed 15 players to Minor League free agent contracts with invitations to Major League camp: right-handed pitchers Tyler Cloyd, Jumbo Diaz, Javy Guerra, Drew Rucinski, Jacob Turner, and Alex Wimmers; left-handed pitcher Mike Kickham; catcher Bryan Holaday; infielders Cristhian Adames, Johnny Giavotella, Yadiel Rivera, and Jonathan Rodriguez; outfielders Rafael Ortega, JB Shuck, and Scott Van Slyke.
The following 13 organizational players were also invited to Major League camp: right-handed pitchers Zac Gallen, Chris Mazza, Ben Meyer, Nick Neidert, Trevor Richards, and Jordan Yamamoto; catchers Chris Hoo, Sharif Othman, and Rodrigo Vigil; infielders Isan Díaz and Peter Mooney; outfielders Isaac Galloway and Monte Harrison.
Marlins' Spring Training headquarters will be based at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Fla. Pitchers and catchers will hold their first workout on Feb. 14, and the first full-squad workout will be Feb. 19.
As of today's announcement, the Marlins will have 68 players in Major League Spring Training camp.
