Ozuna rips MLB season-best 115.3 mph homer

ST. LOUIS -- With a home run that snuck just over the left-field wall and just inside the foul pole in the first inning on Monday, Marcell Ozuna registered the Majors’ hardest-hit home run of the season.
The two-run blast off Hyun-Jin Ryu came three pitches after the Dodgers were unable to turn a potential inning-ending double play, and it evened the game at 2-2. The home run traveled a projected 374 feet with an exit velocity of 115.3 mph, according to Statcast.
In addition to ranking as the hardest-hit home run this year, it sits as the second-hardest hit of any kind behind only a single by the Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton. The blast is also the hardest home run given up by a Dodgers pitcher since Statcast tracking began in 2015.
During that span, Ozuna has hit the Cardinals’ four hardest home runs, topping the list with one at 117.1 mph last season.
