Sierra exits with left hamstring tightness
JUPITER, Fla. -- Magneuris Sierra showed glimpses of his game-changing speed on Wednesday, drawing a walk and scoring in the first inning of the Marlins' 5-1 win over the Mets at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
But an inning later, the speedy outfielder left the game with a tight left hamstring, and the Marlins will know in a day or two the severity.
Sierra was hurt attempting to hustle to first on a routine groundout to pitcher Steven Matz.

"Obviously, it was back in that hamstring area," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said. "It's that time in camp, it's getting later, and the guys are on their legs a lot."
Ranked by MLB Pipeline as Miami's No. 7 prospect, Sierra tapped a grounder to the mound and pulled up running to first base. With first-base coach Perry Hill at his side, Sierra walked slowly, his left leg completely straight, to the dugout.
"Hopefully, it's more cramped up than anything else," Mattingly said. "We're hoping for the best."

The speedy Sierra was acquired by the Marlins from the Cardinals in the Marcell Ozuna trade in December.
Sierra will be shut down for at least a few days. He was initially scheduled to start in center field and lead off Thursday against the Mets in Port St. Lucie.
Braxton Lee replaced Sierra, who is competing for the center-field spot with Lee and Lewis Brinson.

In 15 Grapefruit League games, Sierra is hitting .250 in 28 at-bats with a .321 on-base percentage.
Sierra is one of the young core players in Miami's system, but at age 21, he has been regarded as more of a long shot to make the Opening Day roster. Miami opens on March 29 against the Cubs at Marlins Park.
If Sierra doesn't make the Opening Day roster, he likely will start off at Triple-A New Orleans.
