The only other two times in AL/NL history where it has happened since 1918 came when Babe Ruth (11 HR) faced off against Tillie Walker (9 HR) on July 5, 1918, and earlier in 2021, when Ohtani (14 HR) pitched to the Indians' José Ramírez (12 HR) on May 19.
