Bryant, Kluber named Players of the Week
All-Star third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs has been chosen the National League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet, and All-Star starting pitcher Corey Kluber of the New York Yankees has been named the American League Player of the Week presented by Chevrolet. The announcements were made earlier today on MLB Network.
Bryant earned his second career NL Player of the Week Award, previously winning on September 16, 2019, and is the first Cubs winner since Alec Mills last year following his no-hitter on September 13th. Kluber claimed his fifth career weekly honor and his first with the Yankees, previously accomplishing the feat with the Cleveland Indians. He became the first Yankees hurler to win AL Player of the Week since Michael Pineda in May 2015.

Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs
- Posted a slash line of .417/.500/1.042 with six runs scored, 10 hits, three doubles, four home runs, 10 RBI and four walks over six games played.
- Connected for his sixth career grand slam on April 26th against the Atlanta Braves. Tied Javier Báez, Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez for fifth-most in Club history. Hall of Famer Ernie Banks holds the franchise mark with 12 career grand slams.
- In yesterday’s thrilling game against the Cincinnati Reds, went 3-for-5 with two runs, a double, two homers and three RBI. Marked his second multi-homer performance of the season (also April 17th).
- Enters play today with 151 career home runs, 15th-most in franchise history and 13 behind Hall of Famer Andre Dawson for 14th on the list.

Corey Kluber, New York Yankees
- Compiled a perfect 2-0 record with a 0.61 ERA across 14.2 innings pitched. Tallied 15 strikeouts while permitting just eight hits and three walks.
- Earned his 100th career victory yesterday against the Detroit Tigers, becoming the 69th pitcher in Baseball history to reach 100 wins within his first 215 career appearances.
- Posted his best start of the season on Sunday, tossing 8.0 shutout innings with 10 strikeouts while surrendering just two hits and one free pass.
- The two-time Cy Young Award winner has now recorded 47 career double-digit strikeout games, fourth-most in the Majors since 2013 behind only Max Scherzer (89), Chris Sale (74) and Jacob deGrom (49).
