LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was scratched from Saturday's 8-4 win against the Pirates due to a right hand bruise.
Turner was replaced by Rob Segedin, who batted seventh. Turner hurt his hand in the fifth inning of Friday's 5-1 loss, when he awkwardly rolled his hands over in a grounder to short. He played the rest of the game, going 1-for-4.
"Justin's doing well, there's some swelling," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game. "Today he was available for defense, but [Sunday], we'll see where he's at."
If Turner has to miss any more time, it will be interrupting a long stretch in which he has been among the game's best third basemen. Since June 1, he has hit .302/.346/.613 with 18 home runs.
