Count Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner among those who can't wait to see his club tangle with the Padres all season.
“It was exciting watching what they’re doing," Turner said. "I think it’s good for the game of baseball. They’re going out and being aggressive and going for it, and it’s good to see teams doing that. I think the way I look at it now that I’m back here with the Dodgers is, we’re gonna get 19 World Series games this year.”
The Dodgers' NL West rivals were huge movers and shakers during the offseason, acquiring former AL Cy Young Award winner Blake Snell in a trade with the Rays, dealing for Cubs right-hander Yu Darvish and most recently agreeing with superstar shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. on a 14-year contract extension.
"It’ll be a good test for us, a good preparation to get ready for the playoffs," said Turner, who Friday finalized a two-year deal to return to the defending World Series champions.
The teams first face off April 22 to begin a four-game series at Dodger Stadium.
