SEATTLE -- Julio Rodríguez demolished a 419-foot, go-ahead, three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning on Friday night, lifting the Mariners to a dramatic, come-from-behind, 5-4 win over the Rangers at T-Mobile Park.

In a 1-1 count, Seattle’s center fielder sat all over a hanging curveball from reliever David Robertson and sent it deep into the second deck, punctuating a turnaround that began brewing one inning prior, after the Mariners had been scoreless through the first six innings.

After Rodriguez’s big blast, Andrés Muñoz locked down his 21st save.

With the win, Seattle (75-73) remained 4 1/2 games back in the American League West after Houston won in Anaheim and 3/12 games back of the final AL Wild Card spot.
