Peraza exits Friday with right leg contusion

The Mets were hit by the injury bug once again. This time it was in Friday’s game against the Marlins when second baseman José Peraza left the game with a right leg contusion.

Peraza hurt his leg in the top of the fourth inning after he was hit by a pitch thrown by Marlins right-hander Zach Pop. Peraza remained in the game, but was taken out in favor of Wilfredo Tovar in the top of the fifth.

“[The leg] got tight really quick. He was struggling to really walk because of the tightness,” Mets manager Luis Rojas said. “My recommendation to him was, 'Don’t try to play through this.' This is going to change [his] game. … He agreed. That’s when he came out and started getting the treatment. We’ll reassess this tomorrow and see how he is.”
