Jose Iglesias trips, does a kip-up on single

Nearly all of us have at one time tripped in public. It can be an embarrassing moment as you take a look around to see if anyone noticed, then try to casually walk it off as if nothing happened. Now, imagine taking a tumble in front of 35,858 people at Petco Park?

That happened to Padres infielder Jose Iglesias after he beat out an infield single in the eighth inning of 7-0 San Diego’s 5-2 win over the Guardians on Wednesday. But Iglesias, after laying sprawled out on the ground for a beat, didn’t awkwardly get back to his feet: He did an impressive kip-up, to the amazement of the fans in attendance and the Padres’ broadcasters. "That's one way to get up," said Don Orsillo.

If you are not aware what a kip-up is, you are clearly not a fan of WWE Hall of Famer Shawn “The Heartbreak Kid” Michaels. (Yes, I posted this on X for the sake of this article):

From 13-year big league veteran, to singer of the smash hit “OMG” to this impressive display of athleticism, Iglesias truly can do it all.
